This program focuses on addressing barriers, human rights, fostering leadership and providing resources for students to advocate for themselves and others, regardless of their background or experiences.

A dedicated initiative fostering meaningful connections, cross-cultural understanding and collaboration among all students. This program creates opportunities for dialogue, celebration of cultural richness and the development of a campus community grounded in belonging and shared humanity.
Providing support and resources for students of all faiths and spiritual beliefs, this program encourages interfaith dialogue, understanding and respect across different perspectives. Additionally, prayer and meditation rooms are available for use and foot washing stations on the first-floor of the Student Center.
Montclair State University’s First-Generation Initiatives provide support services, resources and community to First-Generation College Students (FGS or First-Gen) and their family members. A First-Gen is considered to be the first in their immediate family to go to college, or the first in their immediate family to complete a bachelor’s degree. Here at Montclair, approximately 48% of incoming students identify as First-Gen.
The Orientation Leadership Program is a great opportunity for undergraduate students to get involved on campus and enhance their personal and academic growth.
A welcoming space that fosters connection, learning and support for all students, promoting inclusivity, mutual respect and engagement around topics related to queer student (LGBTQ+) experiences while ensuring that everyone, including allies, feels valued and included.
The Veteran and Military Resource Office provides current Military Affiliated students with the tools they need to succeed. Veterans, current service members and dependents using veteran education benefits are considered Military Affiliated students. Their proactive approach to the educational process and helps students connect with the necessary resources, as well as other Military Affiliated students.
These groups are open to all students who seek meaningful dialogue, mutual support, and personal growth.
The Office of Student Belonging also is home to our campus food pantry and professional closet, both free and available to all students.
