Micro-Internships

Faculty and Staff

Applications for the 2026-2027 Academic Year Will Open Soon

The Graduate School invites University units to apply to host a paid Graduate Student Micro-Internship during the 2026-2027 Academic Year — a high-impact opportunity that supports your department’s goals while developing the next generation of professionals.

About the Program

Through the Micro-Internship Program, full-time staff can propose short-term, project-based roles that allow graduate students to apply their academic training in meaningful ways. In turn, your unit gains focused support, fresh perspectives, and measurable results, with your intern’s compensation provided by The Graduate School.

Micro-internships are designed to be completed within one semester and focus on meaningful, skill-based projects. Projects may include data analysis, web or content development, communication campaigns, event planning, or other initiatives that help move your unit forward. All Divisions, Offices, and Units are welcome to apply to host a graduate student intern.

Why Apply

  • Gain a skilled graduate intern to advance a strategic or priority project
  • Strengthen your team’s capacity without adding permanent workload
  • Support student career development and foster campus-wide collaboration
  • Graduate student interns receive up to $5,000 in funding per approved project

Program Impact

By participating in the Micro-Internship Program, your unit invests in both campus innovation and student success. These projects create meaningful connections between learning and professional experience — a true win-win for our graduate students and the departments that support them.

Thank you for helping us provide hands-on opportunities that prepare our Red Hawks for what’s next. We look forward to your proposal!
