“Ethical Standards for State Employees” provides that no employee shall use his official position to secure unwarranted privileges or advantages for himself or others. While this prohibition does not deny the University’s right to employ relatives of its present employees, it does require that the applicant be subjected to open and objective recruitment and selection procedures. No present employee may participate in or affect any recruitment or selection procedure or other action concerning the potential employment of any person to whom he is related. Neither may any employee be placed in a direct or indirect reporting relationship with any person related to him.
This policy applies to recruitment and selection for all University positions, unclassified and classified, full- and part-time.
